WHO IS KIM WILLIAMS

Kimberley Williams is a publishing, sync licensing and digital marketing guru shaping the next generation of singer-songwriters and producers for the Digital Music era. Kim’s expansive network of industry connections and result-oriented work ethic enables her to put her best ideas into motion to secure for artists the exposure they need in every sector of the business. Kim lives by the motto, “Those who don’t think outside the box, stay in the box.” It is that credo that led this Cleveland, OH native to pursue a career as a music consultant, publisher, talent acquisition and sync licensing. With over 15 years in the music industry, Kim has worked directly on the startup marketing campaigns for Brandy, Lil Kim, Kid Rock, Jewel, Missy Elliot, Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child) and multiple others at various labels such as Atlantic Records, Columbia Artists, Elektra Records and Sony Music. Kim eventually moved into the Digital Entertainment space producing live shows and panels, handling talent, legal affairs, licensing and consumer product placement for Viacom Media Networks, MTV and Nickelodeon, in original programming for shows such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora The Explorer, SpongeBob SquarePants and many others.

 

Williams is no stranger to the music entertainment business. A performer since an early age, Williams performed in the world renowned “The Singing Angels” based in Cleveland, Ohio.  She has traveled to such places as China and Japan and sung for 4 US Presidents; was classically trained in voice, piano and theory at The Cleveland Institute of Music, received a BA in Communications from Bowling Green State University and is a graduate of New York University’s Cap 21 Conservatory & Music Theatre Graduate Program.

 

As an adult, Williams has seen success on a professional level performing for various off-Broadway productions as a top-line vocalist where she learned firsthand the business of music. As an Independent Sync Licensing Manager, Kim has been responsible for thousands of music placements on hundreds of shows for ViacomCBS, ABC, NBC, Fox, Bravo and E! as well as music placements in advertising for Marvel, NFL Superbowl, Cleveland Cavaliers, Burger King, Movado, Nissan, Nintendo, Target and most recently Nike just to name a few.  With her extensive background and relationships in management, publishing and music media licensing Kim is available for speaking engagements, consulting, scoring and music supervision for film and ad campaigns.  See Contact page to connect!
